Lip Products Addict tag!

Bonjour everyone

! I saw this video on Amelia Liana's channel of the Lip Product addict tag she did with Essiebutton and I really enjoyed watching it. I always considered myself an eyeliner addict until I looked through my collection and saw that I have quite a lot of lip products in my collection!

P.S - In the first picture I have Essie 'Snap Happy' Nail Polish on and in the rest of the pictures, I have Nails Inc 'Elizabeth Street' Nail Polish on

Time for the tag!

Favourite balm/treatment?

Nuxe Rêve de Miel! Oh my god this stuff is amazing! It dries semi-matte so you can wear your lipstick straight over it and its great to wear before you go to bed so that you can wake up with soft, hydrated lips. Although the name suggests it has honey in it which I don't like at all, it doesn't smell like honey.

Best eye-catching red?

Probably Illamasqua Sangers or a cheaper one would be Marks and Spencer's lipstick in Red (in the picture). I don't like matte lipsticks and these aren't matte or sheer but a nice satin finish which I prefer.

Best luxury and best drugstore?

I can't really say for luxury because I have never tried a YSL, Chanel, Tom Ford etc lipstick! I'm a broke student and can't afford that stuff! For drugstore, I haven't tried a lot of lipsticks because I quite like an opaque gloss but I really like Maybelline or Seventeen.

Best MAC lipstick?

I have quite a lot of MAC lipsticks! I think it was just a novelty factor when I was in high school having Mac lipsticks when no one else knew about Mac and I thought I was so great haha. My top 2 are Fanfare (right) and Hot Gossip (left)!

The most disappointing?

Mac Russian Red! Everyone loves it, I hate it! I don't really like matte finishes as I already have dry lips but there's something about Russian Red, it dries the life out of your lips and its really uncomfortable to wear. I wore this to my from in 5th year of high school and I couldn't wait to take it off!

Lip liner yes or no?

Yes and no! On a day to day basis I don't wear lip liner really but if I'm going out, I'll wear a lip liner all over the lips so that if my lipstick comes off, I have lip liner under so I don't need to touch up as often. My favourite lip liners are the ones by NYX which are very inexpensive!

Best gloss?

Here we go! I love the;
 Rimmel Apocalips
Mac Lipglass
Mac cremesheen glass
Bobbi brown lipgloss  (Petal is so flattering on the lips)
Natural Collections lipglosses were the first ones I bought and still love them!

Something extra?

It's official - I am a lip product addict!

Hope you all enjoyed this post! I tag everyone to do it! Thank you to Amelia Liana and Essiebutton for creating this tag.

My Makeup Wishlist!

Bonjour lovelies!

I was this kind of post on NikkiTutorials website and from there I seriously thought about all of the makeup I really want but can't afford (broke student problems!). Here comes the list...

  • More Nars blushes - I already have a few; Orgasm, Coeur Battant, Cactus Flower and Taj Mahal but I have my eye on Sin and a few others.
  •  Mac Posey Cream Blush - I seen this in Mac a few weeks ago and I knew that I wanted this but Becca wouldn't let me...
  •  Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blushes - I've heard lots about these blushes and I was unsure whether I would like them or not but when I was them in makeup tutorials being used I wanted them!
  •  Tarte Blushes - Tarte isn't available in the UK and I always see these blushes and get jealous!
  • More Mac pigments - I already have Vanilla, Melon, Cornflower (discontinued) and Rose but I want more! You can never have enough pigments...
  •  Artist of Makeup Eyeshadows - I have a few eyeshadows (Blake Smoke, Figtorious and Bella) and they are very pigmented so of course I'd want more!
And now for some more affordable products that I'm desperate for!

  • Kiko Makeup - Kiko isn't available in stores in the Scotland and I know I can buy it online but I'd like to see the products in person before purchasing.
  •  NYX round lipsticks - NYX is available in the UK in Next stores but the full range isn't there. I checked a few days ago and only the matte lipsticks were available so online will have to do :(
  • NYX blushes - a limited range of blushes are available in the UK and I have a few already (Mauve, Taupe and Peach) but I've had my eye on Cinnamon for a while but it isn't available in stores.
That's the end of my wish list so far! If I have more products I want I'll add them. I don't know when I'll buy all of these products... My birthday is next month so I might ask for a few of these products as gifts! What is on you wish list? And why would you like it so much?

Stand Out Sunday - Mac Mulch eyeshadow

Bonjour lovelies!

I like the concept of having a stand out product to rave about and why not do it on a Sunday where I've had the whole week to use it if it is a new product. I don't think I will do this every Sunday but whenever I have a product I really want to share with you all then I will post it on a Sunday.

This week is Mac Mulch eyeshadow. I bought this in duty free back in September when I was filling up my neutrals palette and convincing myself that shopping in duty free means that I am not spending  as much money as I normally would (even though I bought more than I normally would!) and Mulch was a shadow I got for the sake of buying because I'd heard of it from watching Pixiwoo. Now, every time I go into Mac and look at eyeshadows I find myself constantly picking up Mulch to buy but then realising that I already have it!

It is a gorgeous shimmery dark taupe coloured eyeshadow. It isn't too shimmery so I like to wear it all over the lid and if I feel like it, I will out something in the crease but I normally don't. It is perfect for everyday wear if you like to wear slightly darker eyeshadows over the lid and it is so easy to work with as it makes an impact all over the lid alone with some eyeliner and mascara. I'm sure I've skipped the eyeliner (very unlike me!) and just worn it with mascara.

I've got some pictured saved but my ipad has this thing against me uploading pics so I will post them on my Instagram account and post them here when I can!

Hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know if you like these types of blog posts. What are your stand out products this week? Let me know in the comments!

Mulch can be purchased HERE or at your local Mac counter

March Favourite and Disappointments!

Bonjour lovelies!

I know I'm about 5 days late but I never do anything on time! So I'm just going to go straight into the March favourites and disappointments post.

Favourites

NYX blushes in Peach and Taupe - by no means in Peach a peach colour but nonetheless it's one of the most beautiful matte pink blushes that I own. Taupe is just the perfect contour colour which has taken over Mac Harmony blush that I previously used. Applied with a Real Techniques contour brush, it just gives a subtle contour which still makes cheekbones look very defined and amazing!

Urban Decay Naked Palette - the very first Naked palette has been and will always be my favourite out of the 3 palettes. On a daily basis, I either use Smog all over the lid or Naked all over the lid with Buck in the crease. I can't say enough good things about this palette! I normally use an Elf crease brush to apply the eyeshadows, using the primer potion under it.

NYX lip liners - I've got the lip liners in Nude, Orange, Pinky and Red which I bought in Turkey when I went on holiday and before NYX was available in stores in the UK. I've yet to use Red but Nude and Eva's nude lipstick for L'Oreal are a perfect match, Orange with Mac Morange lipglass and Pinky with Mac Speed Dial Lipstick is one of my favourite combinations.

Rimmel Scandaleyes pen eyeliner - OMG this does not smudge! My eyes get really badly watery when there's cold air and Scotland is forever cold and this eyeliner hasn't run at all. I've tested loads of eyeliners in the past and this one has outdone them all and best of all, it isn't that expensive.

Mac Vanilla & Melon pigments - Vanilla was recommended to me by a friend at uni and I've been in 2 minds over this pigment for months. I honestly don't know why because when I bought the pigment I've been using it constantly. Melon is a gorgeous rose-gold colour and I don't use this as much as Vanilla but when I do, I really like how it looks.

Disappointments

Body Shop Peach body wash - I love the entire peach range, especially the body butter and exfoliatior but this body wash broke my skin out so much! I have a feeling the body lotion broke me out too so ill stop using this.

L'Oreal Micellar water - I really enjoyed using this Micellar water but when I looked in the mirror, all I could see was a white residue left on my face which I wasn't impressed about. I'm trying the Garnier one at the moment too and it seems to be working better then the L'Oreal one.

Hope yous enjoyed reading my favourites and disappointments for the month of March! I really enjoy watching these kinds of videos so I think I'll be doing this regularly as I really enjoyed writing up this post!

Collective haul!

Bonjour lovelies!

Firstly, I would like to apologise for the lack of posts - dont you just hate when all of your deadlines are at the same time?

I thought I'd ease myself back into blogging with a haul of the stuff I got in Boots yesterday and my Mac trip with Becca a few weeks ago!

I'll start with Mac as its the shortest haul. I had 1 space left to fill in my neutrals palette and as soon as I saw Antiqued eyeshadow and I do not regret that purchase one bit! I then bought an eyeshadow that is kind of similar to Antiqued from the Extra Dimension range called Amourous Alloy. I'm really into copper coloured eyeshadows and I've been on the hunt for this one when I saw it on Buynowbloglater.

The last Mac eyeshadow I got was a mineralised eyeshadow called Guilt by Association. It is gorgeous! So gorgeous that I've still to use it....

I then picked up 2 lipsticks - Fanfare and Speed Dial. Cremesheen finishes are my favourite finishes of lipstick so I headed towards those while on the hunt for a new pinkish-nude kind of lipstick.

Speed Dial was recommended to my by Becca and I love wearing it as an all round nice pink whereas Fanfare is more of a peachy kind of pink. I might do a post on my favourite Mac lipsticks at some point!

The stuff I got in Boots haven't really been used apart from 2 eyeliners as I've just bought them but I'll still share what I got.

Boots have a 3 for 2 offer on at the moment so I kind of took advantage... I got 4 mascaras to start!

  • Maybelline The Rocket Volume (waterproof)
  • Maybelline Big Eyes
  • L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes
  • Rimmel Scandaleyes Rockin' Curves
And quite a few eyeliners! (Bear in mind that I either wear eyeliner or no makeup!)
  • Soap&Glory Smoulder kohl pencil
  • L'Oreal gel eyeliner
  • L'Oreal Super Liner (one of my favourite liquid liners ever!)
  • Rimmel Scandaleyes Precision micro liner
  • Maybelline Master Kohl Kajal liner
  • Seventeen Make your Mark liquid liner
I got 1 blush
  • Revlon Cream Blush in Charmed
I got 2 lipsticks from the L'Oreal nudes range
  • Eva's nude
  • Juliannes nude
P.s I'm currently on the hunt for the best pen liquid liner so I might do a battle of the eyeliners post at some point once I've tested all of them (Rimmel one was worn today and hasn't moved or smudged :) )

That's the end of my haul! I hope yous have enjoyed reading this post and hopefully March will be full of posts as I have lots of ideas! If you have any requests, comment below or tweet me @extralucideblog

Au Revoir lovelies et Merci ♥

Fashion Faux-Pas!!

Bonjour lovelies!

Today's post will be a fashion post and the terrible faux-pas that have been prevalent in the fashion world for a while now but more so in the last few weeks. These faux-pas are none other than...

FRENCH GONE WRONG!

I'm disgusted. So is Becca. So are our friends.

So I will show off these wonderfully incorrect/grammatically wrong pieces of clothing and give a mini French lesson in the process.

Exhibit 1: Topshop
Beau Fleur? Since when was "Fleur" masculine? Fleur = Feminine
It should be: BELLE Fleur

Exhibit 2: New Look

Ah the classic mistake of agreement. Amie = Feminine, Mon = Masculine, how does that work? It doesn't! The correct way of saying "my friend" is "mon ami" however that is more for friends that are guys. I have checked and "mon amie" is correct in a way as it would be difficult to say "Ma Amie" but why not include it!

Exhibit 3: River Island

Oh dear I can't believe I used to work here! "Mon Belle" "Ma Belle" "Belle" is feminine so the possessive adjective needs to agree with "Belle" so in this case, the possessive adjective would be "Ma" and not "Mon"

Exhibit 4: New Look (again!)

Selfié? What is that supposed to be because it isn't a selfie! "Selfié" is pronounced "sel-fi-ay" so the correct way of trying to say selfie is just "sel-fie" Why do shops like ruining the beautiful language that is French?

Exhibit 5: Sincerely Jules

I saw this on Instagram this morning and nearly cried. "Célfie?" What is a "Célfie" Ah, another failed attempt at SELFIE! In French, the "C" remains a hard sound so explain to me what a "kayl-fie" is?!

And that is the end of my fashion faux-pas post. I hear that there is a correctly spelt t-shirt saying Bonjour in Forever21 just now and H&M has grammatically correct French inspired t-shirts at the moment incase anyone would like to buy one but not have one that isn't right!

Hope you enjoyed this post!
Ciao Ciao ♥
